The Town of Holly Springs is offering a weekend of virtual Independence Day entertainment and community enjoyment. Due to gathering restrictions related to COVID-19, the town has adjusted its annual celebration, but did not want to cancel festivities altogether.
• Free Online Concert: Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m. The Mo’Jazz concert will be streamed through Holly Springs Cultural Center’s Facebook page and the town’s YouTube channel. Mo’Jazz featuring Connie McCoy incorporates a blend of Jazz, Pop, R&B and Gospel. Mo’ Jazz is one of the Triangle’s hottest performing artists.
• Food Art Competition: Saturday, July 4 Holly Springs Farmers Market along Ballentine Street next to the Holly Springs Cultural Center, will hold a food art competition during its regular time Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Examples of food art include decorated cupcakes, watermelon sculptures and cereal mosaics.
• Virtual Fireworks Show: Sunday, July 5 at 9:15 p.m. Weather depending, fireworks will be streamed live for viewers to enjoy from their homes. For social distancing, Sugg Farm and Bass Lake Park will close at 7:30 p.m. to prevent people from gathering there to watch the fireworks.
