Property Tax
Wake County Revenue (919) 856-5400

In accordance with North Carolina law, the Town levies property (ad valorem) taxes on July 1, the beginning of the Town's fiscal year. These taxes are separate from those levied by Wake County. The taxes are due on Sept. 1, but interest does not accrue until the following Jan. 6. These taxes are based on assessed values as of Jan. 1.

The Town of Holly Springs currently has a property (ad valorem) tax rate of 41.5 cents per $100 of the property's value. The Wake County Revenue Department bills and collects these taxes for the Town.

The Wake County Revenue Department is also responsible for billing and collecting taxes on registered motor vehicles in the Town of Holly Springs. For motor vehicles registered under the staggered system, taxes are due the first day of the fourth month after the vehicles are registered. The billed taxes are applicable to the fiscal year in which they become due. For vehicles registered under the annual system, taxes are due on May 1 of each year.

In addition to the ad valorem taxes, the Town also charges a vehicle decal fee of $10 per vehicle. This is included on the property tax bill. Any questions concerning your property tax billing or assessments should be directed to the Wake County Revenue Department, PO Box 550, Raleigh, NC, 27602-0550, or by phone at (919) 856-5400.
