Transforming Wastewater into Something Beautiful

Red may be the new black in Hollywood. But in Holly Springs, Purple is the New Green… green as in economic development dollars, golf course greens, environmental initiatives and the green of lush landscaping in public spaces.

All of this green is made possible by our purple … purple as in the purple tank, meters, valves and lines of the Town’s newly operational Reclaimed Water System that delivers treated wastewater to initial irrigation customers west of G.B. Alford Highway.

Regulations

Re: Use

By using this reclaimed water resource responsibly, residents will help conserve the Town’s potable water reserves and protect our natural environment.

Reclaimed water can be identified by the lavender or “purple” color pipes, meter boxes, and other system components. This is a rule mandated by the state of North Carolina for a reclaimed water system. So, “think purple” when using reclaimed water!
