Holly Springs Storm Aid

Storm Aid is a Town-sponsored event bringing together individuals and community organizations to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Enjoy music, food and other family fun at Womble Park while helping those in desperate need. Admission is free, but please help.

Highlights

  • Epic Band (sponsored by Church Alive): 12 - 1 p.m.
  • Johnny Dollar Band: 1:30 - 3 p.m. & 3:30 - 5 p.m.
  • Kevyn Adams of Carolina Hurricanes hockey team: 4 - 5 p.m.
  • Rex Bloodmobile: 12 - 5 p.m.
  • Food vendors: 12 - 5 p.m.
  • Dunking booth & other games: 12 - 5 p.m.

Donating Money

Please make your tax-deductible donations payable to Holly Springs Storm Aid. All donations at the event will go to the American Red Cross. The Red Cross will be on hand to accept donations and provide information on ways to help with the relief effort.

Donating Relief Supplies

In addition to money donations, you can also help by bringing certain badly needed items to the collection trailer at Storm Aid. Items collected include:

  • Bottled water
  • Canned goods
  • Hand sanitizer & other cleaning supplies
  • Diapers & undergarments (new only)

Hosting Storm Victims

Helping Stranded Pets & Other Animals

Volunteers will also accept donations for the Humane Society of the United States in its massive effort to rescue animals and assist those who are caring for them.

Humane Society teams have more than 200 people in Louisiana and Mississippi rescuing stranded pets, assisting local agencies and establishing temporary shelters.

Your contributions will go exclusively to the HSUS Disaster Relief Fund. Treats for people and pets will be given out with a donation at Storm Aid.

Raffle

A raffle for valuable prizes will begin at Storm Aid on Sept. 10. The drawing will be held at the Holly Fest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.

  • 1st Prize - Holland Tribute Grill ($660 value) donated by Holland Grill Co.
  • 2nd Prize - Set of King Cobra irons & deluxe golf bag ($600 value) donated by Devils Ridge Golf Course
  • 3rd Prize - John Deere Weed Eater ($300 value) donated by Revels Tractor Co., Inc.
  • 4th Prize - Gift basket ($200 value) donated by Village Salon & Spa

Raffle tickets are $2 each, three for $5 and seven tickets for $10. Buy tickets at Womble Park during Storm Aid or afterward by calling (919) 557-2901. You need not be at the drawing to win.
