Town Hall Reopens Noon Monday 4/18/2011

Holly Springs Town Hall has electrical power and will reopen at noon Monday.

Hunt Community Center and Holly Springs Cultural Center remain closed. Games for Parks and Recreation athletics leagues were canceled Monday. Programs held at the Hunt Center were also canceled Monday.

Bass Lake Park is open. Track-out and after-school programs held there continue as scheduled.

Holly Springs Public Works is collecting storm debris. The towns of Apex and Fuquay-Varina have sent crews and equipment to assist.

Residents are asked to bring storm debris to the edge of the street as soon as possible. They can also take storm debris to any Wake County solid waste convenience center.

Power at Town Hall was restored about 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The Town of Holly Springs was under a curfew from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday for public safety in light of damage from Saturday's storm.

Fallen trees and power lines and other debris remain as road hazards in various
areas of town. Holly Springs police urged those who must be on the roads to obey
traffic signs that have been placed to protect them.

Parts of Avent Ferry Road in the vicinity of N.C. 55 Bypass remain blocked. Detour signs have been posted. However, motorists are urged to avoid that area if possible.

Please reserve 911 for emergencies. For non-emergency calls to Holly Springs'
