HollyFest Oct. 30 at Womble Park 10/25/2010

Enjoy food, music, crafts, games and contests for kids, racing pigs and more at HollyFest, a fall tradition in Holly Springs.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Womble Park on Saturday, Oct. 30. Admission
is free.

With Halloween the following day, HollyFest will include a children’s costume parade at 1 p.m. on the baseball fields. There’s also a pumpkin carving contest open to all ages. Drop off your pumpkin at the registration table near the band shell. It will be displayed until 2:30 p.m.

A panel of judges will vote for their favorite pumpkin. Prizes will be awarded following the Flowers For Faye band performance at 2:30 pm.

Other highlights include an interactive barnyard and petting zoo, Robinson’s Racing Pigs, the annual Cornhole Cup, and food vendors for every taste.

The festival will end with musical entertainment by Crush.

The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a business expo at HollyFest, enabling businesses to showcase products and services. Various nonprofit organizations will also be
at HollyFest to share their mission.

Registration is under way for the annual HollyFest 5K at Womble Park. The race starts at
9 a.m. the day of the festival, which is Oct. 30. A free "tot trot" will follow shortly afterward.
