Chili Chefs Square Off 9/14//2010

Sample the best chili that Holly Springs has to offer Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Holly Springs Farmers Market as contestants square off in the market's first Chili Cook-Off from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

Ten contestants will compete for your vote in the People's Choice category. The cook-off is a free event for the entire family.

Meet celebrity judges Gerald Owens, anchor and reporter for WRAL-TV; chef Andrew Forster of Wake Forest, a contestant on this season's "Hell's Kitchen" television show starring Gordon Ramsay; and Franc D’Ambrosio, who starred as the legendary masked man in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award winning musical "The Phantom of the Opera." D'Ambrosio appears Saturday evening at Holly Springs Cultural Center.

Enjoy live music by Kora Beth and Phil plus games for the kids. The chili cook-off is sponsored by Garman Homes.

Holly Springs Farmers Market operates Saturday mornings from May through October. It is across South Main Street from Town Hall, which is at 128 S. Main St.
