Football, Cheer Registration Starts May 16 5/13/2009

Registration for Holly Springs residents begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at Hunt Community Center for the Parks and Recreation Department's 2009 football and cheerleading programs.

Space is limited, and the programs fill quickly. Non-residents can register for any remaining spots beginning June 1. Fees are $50 for Town residents and $60 for others.

The Parks and Recreation Department is also taking applications for coaches and assistants.

Youth Tackle Football

Registration is based on the player's age as of Aug. 1, 2009. Players must be between the ages of 7 and 12 by that date.

Participants will learn the basics of football and exercise their skills through competition with teams in neighboring towns.

Conditioning begins the second week of August. The season runs through October. ct.  Practices will be held three times per week. Games are played on Saturday evenings. Travel is required.

Youth Cheerleading

Registration is based on the participant’s age as of Aug. 1, 2009. Players must be between the ages of 6 and 12 by Aug. 1, 2009.

Show your spirit and cheer on the Yellow Jackets football team. Participants will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading through cheers, dance routines and tumbling.

The season begins in August. Practices will be held twice during the week. Games are on Saturday evenings. Travel is required.
