Easter Egg Hunt, Yard Sale Set 3/27/2009

The annual Easter egg hunt and community yard sale are still set for Saturday, March 28, at Womble Park. But call (919) 557-9600 or 557-2939 if it's raining Saturday morning for any word of postponement.

The rain date is Saturday, April 4.

As a warmup to the egg hunt, kids can enjoy music, crafts, games and face-painting beginning at 10 a.m. near the band shell in Womble Park. The action moves to the ball fields as kids 8 and younger "hunt" for 5,000 candy-filled eggs. The egg hunt starts at noon. It's over quickly.

The Easter egg hunt is divided into two age groups - under 4 and 4-8.

The other big event during this annual Spring Fling celebration is the community yard sale at Womble Park. Twenty-nine people have signed up to sell, so it's a good opportunity to find bargains without having to drive from one neighborhood to another.
