Police Caution About Giving Personal Information Over Phone 1/30/2008 Holly Springs police caution residents about giving personal information over the telephone in light of reports about a lewd caller posing as a doctor. Last August, a male caller purporting to be a physician spoke lewdly to children at a home in Holly Springs, police said. Detective Lorrie Minschew believes the same man phoned another home recently, identified himself as a doctor, and began talking about children and sex. The adult who answered the phone hung up before much was said. Minschew asked that anyone who has received a similar phone call notify the Holly Springs Police Department at (919) 557-9111. She also advised residents to be careful when giving out personal information over the phone. “Don't be afraid to be rude,” she said. “Hang up the phone.” Contact the Holly Springs Police Department for additional crime prevention advice.
