"One of the goals of the Holly Springs Police Department is to offer free services to our residents, like the "shred-a-thon", so they can help protect themselves from becoming victims of a crime," said Lt. Anthony Revels. The "shred-a-thon" May 24 from 9 a.m. until noon in the Town Hall parking lot is presented in conjunction with the Holly Springs Farmers Market. This will be the third time that Holly Springs police have arranged for a document shredding service to help citizens destroy unneeded papers that a thief could use to steal their identity. Bring your old bank statements, tax records, credit card statements, cancelled checks and other information. They will be destroyed for free while you watch. The fraud prevention forum on May 28 will be from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers upstairs in Town Hall.
