Early Voting Starts April 26 4/14/08 Cast your May 6 primary election ballot early at Hunt Community Center beginning Saturday, April 26 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Hunt Center is among nine one-stop absentee voting locations in Wake County for those who want an alternative to visiting their assigned polling place on Election Day. In addition to the presidential party primaries, the May 6 ballot includes races for Congress, governor, state Legislature, the courts, and local races such as county commissioner. Primary winners run in the general election in November. All registered voters in Wake County may request an absentee ballot by mail or visit a one-stop absentee voting location. No excuse for voting early is required. North Carolina residents who are qualified to vote but who missed the 25-day registration deadline may register and vote at a one-stop location with proof of identification. The one-stop voting period extends from 19 to three days before Election Day. Early voting times at the Hunt Center are:
