Cultural Center Offering Summer of Classes 4/11/08 Registration begins May 1 for a variety of summertime classes at Holly Springs Cultural Center. Classes will run May - August and feature drama, cooking, dancing and special interests such as resumé building, re-entering the workforce and home-schooling. "The Holly Springs Cultural Center is home to many creative classes and programs focusing on the visual and performing arts," said Emily Wright, program coordinator. "Our classes are led by some of the most talented artists and teachers in the Triangle." Age requirements and costs vary. Register online in May or call the Cultural Center at (919) 567-4000 for more information. Drama – Classes focus on teamwork, building confidence and speaking ability. Each class is creatively designed to help every child at every level grow. Classes include creative movement, dramatic games, short skits and improvisational exercises. No two classes are the same – ever. They provide on stage and off stage experience. Cooking – Classes exist for preschoolers, youth, teens, adults and seniors. Everyone will learn basic kitchen safety and how to work in the kitchen while creating a tasty treat. Whether you've been cooking for years, or are just beginning, this class will teach you something new. New classes this session include “Shake-it-Up” Crepes and Parent & Child Cooking. Dancing – Dance like no one is watching. Our dance classes teach you the basics for shag, line dancing, West Coast swing and - new this summer - Latin dancing. Each class focuses on a different dance, giving you the opportunity to learn a variety. In these classes you build the confidence to dance the night away.
