Summer Camp Registration Starts Feb. 2 1/22/2008

Look ahead to summer and explore the fun ways that children can continue learning with Holly Springs Parks and Recreation when the school year ends.

The department offers camps on a variety of topics, including art, music, drama and outdoor exploration. See the summer camp brochure for descriptions, camp locations and other details.

Summer camps are for children ages 3-18. Age restrictions, registration requirements and fees vary. You must register in person and make full payment then.

Registration begins Saturday, Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. until noon at Hunt Community Center. That morning, the Hunt Center staff will accept registrations from:

• Town residents signing up for camps held at the Hunt Center
• Town residents and nonresidents registering for camps at Holly Springs Cultural Center
• Town residents and nonresidents registering for camps at Bass Lake Park

After Feb. 2, you may register at any location. Beginning Feb. 28, nonresidents may sign up for camps held at the Hunt Center.

Here is some of what the summer camp program has to offer:

• Art Week – Explore art in a new way. Painting, drawing, and other mediums will be used to explore the world of art.

• Drama Camps – Make the world your stage. These camps will focus on play production, acting, scene and prop creation. This camp features an end of the week production.

• Nature Explorers – Explore the outdoors and learn about water, wildlife, trees and other plants. Activities will include canoeing and fishing.

• Explore Beyond School – This includes a variety of summer camps ranging from music and art to robotics.
