Art After Dark on Second Fridays 8/01/08

Enjoy an evening of local art, music and refreshments during the Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina Art Walk on Friday, Aug. 8 from 6-8 p.m. It's free.

Art After Dark is the second Friday of each month. It's a collaboration of Holly Springs Cultural Center, the Nature of Art Frame Shop and other art establishments in the area.

Visit two venues to be eligible for the door prize - a $75 gift certificate for framing from The Nature of Art.  Opening receptions are Friday evening, but stop by for a valid "stamp" between Thursday and Saturday. For more details, visit The Nature of Art Frame Shop online or call (919) 387-9448.

Holly Springs Cultural Center opens “From Santa Fe to Provence.”
Mixed media abstracts on paper and canvas by Joseph DiGiulio reflecting recent travels in New Mexico and France.  Free reception Friday, Aug 6 to 8 p.m. with show through August.

SL Photography, Printing and Design welcomes the landscape painting of nationally represented artist Bonnie Brooks.
Bonnie's work is on display in private collections and galleries across the nation. Opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Wine and finger-food accompany live music.

The Nature of Art opens “Mucho Mud” pottery show.
Handbuilt and thrown pottery by Brenda Taylor.  Coming from a Cherokee heritage, Brenda's art reflects a combination of the natural and spiritual worlds.

Java Divine Gelato and Coffee Bar opens “Life Science.”
Inspired works by Courtney Rasmussen combining pottery and painting in a completely unique style.  Free reception Friday, August 8th from 7-9 pm featuring a sampling of gelati with music by Garland Mason from 8-10 pm. with show through August.
