Turtles Rule Saturday, May 12 5/8/2007 Learn all about turtles at the third annual TurtleFest on Saturday, May 12 at Bass Lake Park.
The festival has quickly become one of the most popular events around. "We expect to be very busy," said Scott Barnard, manager of Bass Lake Park. "We encourage people to carpool, walk or bicycle to the park if at all possible." TurtleFest will feature exhibits from the Museum of Natural Sciences, North Carolina aquariums, Piedmont Wildlife, Wake County Parks and Recreation, and Holly Springs Parks and Recreation The festival will conclude with the Turbo Turtle Race at 4 p.m. For more on the festival and Bass Lake Park, call (919) 557-2496.
