Child Safety Seat Clinic Held July 7 7/3/07

The Holly Springs Police Department will host a child safety seat clinic on Saturday, July 7 from 8 a.m. until noon at Town Hall.

The purpose is to minimize the risk of injury to children in traffic accidents by helping parents and caretakers install restraint seats correctly. If you have small children, drop by the back parking lot next to police headquarters the morning of July 7 for the free instruction.

It is estimated that more than 80 percent of car seats are installed incorrectly. Improper installation is a leading cause of child injuries and death from auto accidents.

"For this reason we find it very beneficial to conduct this event," said Lt. Mike Patterson of Holly Springs police.
