Cultural Center Hosts Festival July 1 6/28/07

Join us for a free outdoor concert and other activities Sunday, July 1 from 4-7 p.m. as we start a new tradition celebrating America's birthday at Holly Springs Cultural Center.

The Old-Fashioned Independence Celebration stars Holly Springs Concert Band as well as Stacy Clearman's "Littleland" show for kids and a Decorated Bike and Wagon contest for the kids.

The free celebration takes place on the Springs Outdoor Stage at the cultural center. Bring your picnic baskets and lawn chairs for this salute to America.

"We are so excited by this new event that we hope will bring together the community for years to come," says event coordinator Cassie Jones. "Picnics, great music and fun for the kids, all in the spirit of America's Birthday."

Here's the schedule:

• 4 p.m. - Kids Decorated Bike and Wagon Contest

• 5 p.m . - Stacy Clearman's "LittleLand," where everyone's in the band! This great new show includes lots of crowd participation, a live band of kids and adults, original songs and popular favorites, puppet shows, special effects, larger than life props, unique dressed up characters to meet, and more.

• 6 p.m. - Holly Springs Concert Band's Summer Picnic Concert featuring American marches, many patriotic songs, and tunes appropriate for a summer evening picnic.
