Fans Available for Older Citizens 7/10/07

Free electric fans are available to people age 60 and older who need help cooling their homes this summer.

Operation Fan Heat Relief is a long-running project that is managed through the Division of Aging and Adult Services in the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

In Wake County, contact Resources for Seniors in Raleigh at (919) 872-7933 for more information about the program. A list of contacts in other counties is available.

In some areas, people with more serious health problems may qualify for air conditioners.
