Baseball, Softball All-Stars Represent Town 6/28/07

Baseball and softball all-star teams in the Town's Parks and Recreation program are representing Holly Springs in multiple tournaments this summer.

The ages 11-12 baseball all-star team kicked off the competition in the Cal Ripken 12 and under district tournament hosted by the West Raleigh Baseball Association. They played their first game Thursday, June 28 at 6 p.m. against the West Raleigh all-star team.

The ages 9-10 baseball all-star team competes in the Cal Ripken 10 and under district tournament July 12-15 at Womble Park. The Parks and Recreation Department is hosting.

The ages 13-15 baseball all-star team travels to Granville County July 12-15 to compete in the Babe Ruth district tournament.

Each of these teams will have the opportunity to advance to compete in the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth state tournaments.

Parks and Recreation baseball and softball all-star teams will also compete in the SWAC (Statewide Athletic Committee) district tournaments July 20-22. They wll have the opportunity to advance to the state tournaments.

Holly Springs Parks and Recreation will host the 10 and under, 12 and under, and 14 and under SWAC district tournaments, as well as the 12 and under SWAC state tournamen. All are at Womble Park.
