Council to Receive Update, Approve Budget on Stinson Avenue 10/30/06

The Town Council is scheduled to receive an update Nov. 7 on a project to connect two sections of Stinson Avenue and provide a vital link between the Village District and Bass Lake Road.

The schedule calls for seeking construction bids this month. Construction is expected to begin in December and be completed by mid-summer 2007.

The 400-foot roadway and sidewalk connection is part of the Town's Capital Improvement Plan. It would provide a link not only for vehicular traffic, but for pedestrians and bicyclists as well.

When finished, Stinson Avenue would extend from Grigsby Avenue to Bass Lake Road and link the Woodcliff and Chelsea Woods subdivisions.

The project includes:

• 400 feet of roadway
• Three 8-foot-by-7-foot box culverts
• 149 feet of relocated sewer line
• 400 feet of 8-inch diameter water line
• Roadway storm drainage

Town Council meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Town Hall.
