Entries Accepted for Christmas Parade 10/26/06

We're lining up entries for the 12th annual Happy Holly Days Christmas Parade down Main Street on Saturday, Dec. 9.

Parade entries are due Nov. 27. There is no fee. For an entry form, drop by Town Hall or download a form to fill out and return.

The Christmas Parade starts at 11 a.m. It begins at the Food Lion shopping center at the entrance to Oak Hall subdivision. It will end at Town Hall between noon and 12:30 p.m.

We will have floats and marching bands including Holly Springs High School, plus Scout troops, Holly Springs School of Dance, Shriners in their miniature trucks, and much more. Stormy the Carolina Hurricanes mascot and some Hurricanes cheerleaders will be there. Food vendors will set up in the parking lot next to Town Hall. Last year's parade had about 70 entries.

At 1:30 p.m., join us at a ribbon-cutting for the Holly Springs Library & Cultural Center. The building is on West Ballentine Street, a block from Town Hall. Everyone is invited to an open house from 2-5 p.m.

Music, crafts for kids and other activities will be part of the festivities. You can apply for a library card and begin checking out books.
