Parks & Recreation Begins Online Registration 09/19/06

You can now sign up over the computer for many Holly Springs Parks & Recreation programs, classes and activities.

The department is offering online registration, beginning with fall listings. Read descriptions, register and pay for preschool classes, adult dance lessons, Spanish classes, senior programs and much more. Register at your convenience from any computer connected to the Internet.

“Community members can now view and register for our programs after hours and from the comfort of their own homes, cutting back on travel and registration lines,” said Sarah Kennedy, office manager for the Parks & Recreation Department.

To provide the service, the Town chose San Diego-based The Active Network, Inc., a company that delivers software technology and marketing solutions for community service organizations.

When you register online, you will receive enrollment confirmation by e-mail immediately afterward. Active Networks Ltd. charges a convenience fee for each registration. This is similar to most online registration or ticketing programs. The fee varies according to the cost of the activity. Before completing the transaction with the associated fee, you will have the option to continue or cancel the transaction. Drop-off and in-person registration options are still available.

The Parks & Recreation Departments' Hurrahs! newsletter contains the programs and activities offered online. Beside each activity listing is a bar code for a course. Enter this course bar code to link to a specific course.

You do not need to know the bar code to search for programs. Holly Springs Parks & Recreation programs can be searched by program title, subject or category, participant age, location and/or keyword.

If you have registered for a recreation program or reserved a facility in the past, your information will already be in the department's database. Contact the department for the account PIN numbers and bar codes for individual family members.

If you're a new customer, set up your account online and it will be activated within two business days. You will receive an e-mail from the department with your account information. All accounts both existing and new must have a valid e-mail address to register for online.
