Lightning Knocks Out Hunt Center Phones, Computers 07/28/06

Telephones and e-mail service were out at the Hunt Center most of Friday after lightning struck the flagpole there during a thunderstorm Thursday afternoon.

Phone and e-mail service was available intermittently by Friday afternoon as repairs continued.

The center has power. Programs and activities are operating on schedule.

No fire occurred, although the electrical surge damaged some phone and computer equipment and also a television in the fitness room.
