Town Honored for Excellence in Financial Reporting 7/06/06

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded Holly Springs a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The award is for the Town's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. An impartial panel said Holly Springs' report demonstrates a "spirit of full disclosure" that clearly communicates the Town's financial story.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. It is being presented to the Town's Finance Department.

"We got it the first time we applied," Finance Director Drew Holland said. "We're very pleased with that."

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit organization serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals. It has offices in Chicago and Washington.
