Holly Springs Monitoring Apex Fire; No Evacuation Anticipated Holly Springs Town officials are closely monitoring the chemical fire in Apex, but do not anticipate any need for evacuation of Holly Springs residents. In the unlikely event of an evacuation, Holly Springs residents will receive notice through a number of means, including TV and radio news reports. Wake County Emergency Management also sends automated phone messages to residents' homes if they are in an evacuation area. "Our risk level is minimal," Town Manager Carl Dean said at 10 a.m. Friday. "But we are prepared." Holly Springs Police and Fire departments have additional personnel on duty and on standby as a precaution. Holly Springs Fire Department sent personnel and equipment to Apex through the night Thursday to assist in the response. In the unlikely event you are asked to evacuate and lack transportation, call Wake County Emergency Operations Center at (919) 856-7044 or visit the county's emergency update page . For more information, call (919) 557-9111. Please reserve 911 for true emergencies.
