8/31/05 Advisory Panel Formed on Regional Wastewater Project The Western Wake Partners Policy Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting Monday, Sept. 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Cary Town Hall. The Western Wake Partners project includes a sewage treatment plant that is scheduled to open by 2011. Wastewater treated there will be piped to the Cape Fear River below Buckhorn Dam. Cary, Apex and Morrisville will use the plant. Holly Springs is expanding its own plant instead but will pump treated wastewater to the Cape Fear through the regional pipeline. The Policy Advisory Committee includes mayors and staff from Holly Springs, Cary, Apex and Morrisville. Holly Springs will have a vote only on matters relating to pumping wastewater after treatment. The advisory panel will meet in the second floor conference room at 120 Wilkinson Ave. on Cary Town Hall campus. A second meeting is tentatively scheduled for the week of Oct. 17.
