Town Hall Community Planning Road Show Comes to Residents June 14

Town Hall is coming to an area near you! Do you have questions about what is going on around Town or what the Town envisions for the future but don't know who to ask? Drop in on the Town Hall Community Planning Road Show Tuesday, June 14, between 6-8 p.m. at the Arbor Creek Club House, Bass Lake Park or Hunt Community Center to meet with Town staff, get information about community planning projects, and share your ideas for the future of Holly Springs.

One of the major focuses at the simultaneous meetings will be the downtown Village District Area Plan and the Sunset Lake Road & Holly Springs Road Gateway Area Plan. These plans are in the process of being formed and will guide development in these high-profile locales. The plans will incorporate development aspects from zoning and transportation to entry features and utilities.

Other planning topics to be discussed at the road show meetings include the Town's extraterritorial jurisdiction expansion plans and the sign ordinance. Staff from the Town's Planning & Zoning Department will be at all locations, and Engineering and Economic Development department staff also will be available at some locations. While the meetings are designed for Town residents to discuss planning and development topics with Town staff, anyone is welcome to ask any question on any Town topic.

“We started to realize that all these public meetings were being held at Town Hall,” said Gina Bobber, director of Planning & Zoning. “We wanted the opportunity to go out to the residents.

“Stop by for a few minutes between 6 and 8 p.m.,” she said. “We'll be able to answer any questions residents have or at least be able to get contact information for the appropriate staff to get back to them.”

If they are successful, the road show meetings will continue to be held annually.
