Holly Springs Senior Engineer Attains PE License

After eight hours of testing in April, Holly Springs Engineering Department Senior Engineer Kendra Stephenson received her professional engineer license this summer.

Stephenson received her bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a minor in environmental justice from North Carolina State University in May 2000. While attending the college, she worked with the North Carolina Department of Transportation Roadway Design Unit and the Project Development and Environmental Analysis Department. After her graduation, she accepted a position as assistant district engineer with the NCDOT, until January 2002 when she joined the Holly Springs Engineering Department.

Since joining the Town of Holly Springs, Stephenson has worked on all types of engineering projects. Currently, she stays busy with the many new road projects underway.

“The best part about my job is the variety of work I am able to do,” said Stephenson. “This is an exciting time in Holly Springs with all of the ongoing and upcoming development in such a fast growing and progressive community.

“Working with the community, and being able to see a project from start to finish and speak to the people that it benefits, is very rewarding and meaningful,” she added.

“Kendra is an asset to our department and to the Town, and we are very pleased to congratulate her on her very important accomplishment,” said Engineering Department Director Stephanie Sudano.
