4/14/05 Hotline Established for Residents to Report Transportation-Related Safety Issues Tired of dodging potholes on Holly Springs streets? Need to report damaged signage or loose trash along the side of a road? Dial the Holly Springs Public Works Hotline at (919) 557-2900 , and let the Town know of the problem! In April, the Holly Springs Town Council established a hotline residents can call to report street problems and other transportation safety issues that occur on streets within town limits. By calling the Holly Springs Public Works Hotline, residents can leave messages listing any street or transportation-related problem, and details about the specific location of the problem, such as the nearest street address. Callers also are encouraged to leave their full name and phone number so Town employees can return their call within two business days, letting the resident know how the Town is solving the problem and when it will be corrected. “The Town Council established this hotline for a variety of street safety issues,” said Public Works Director Luncie McNeil. “Residents can report anything from potholes to shrubbery blocking line-of-sight at intersections, to damaged street curbing and more. Really, the hotline is aimed at making Holly Springs a safer place in which to live and drive.” Messages left with the hotline will be checked every weekday. While Holly Springs will work to permanently repair potholes and other damages on town-maintained roads, the town will complete temporary repairs on state-maintained roads until the NC Department of Transportation can permanently repair the thoroughfare. “We're giving calls immediate attention, and we're working on them as quickly as possible,” McNeil said, “especially calls that deal with transportation safety issues, such as potholes.”
