Information Sessions Set on ETJ Expansion 12/13/06

The Town of Holly Springs is holding two public information sessions to explain how expanding the Town's planning jurisdiction would affect property owners in that area.

The sessions will be in the Holleman Room on the first floor of Town Hall on:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m
  • Wednesday, Jan. 4 2006 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Drop in at any time to meet with Town staff if you own property in the ETJ expansion area. Learn about the proposed zoning of your property, what to do if you have a business or office at home, when you will need building permits, etc.

In November, the Wake County Board of Commissioners voted to allow the Town to expand its extra-territorial jurisdiction, or ETJ. The county occasionally grants this authority to allow a town to plan for services in areas that are likely to become part of the town within 10 years.

The Holly Springs Town Council has scheduled a public hearing for Jan. 17, 2006 on zoning map designations for the ETJ extension.
