Nov. 8 is Election Day in Holly Springs 11/07/05

Voters go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 8 to fill three seats on the Holly Springs Town Council. The mayor is also up for re-election, but is unopposed.

Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The ballot includes incumbents Chet VanFossen and Hank Dickson plus three residents who are seeking a first term: Vinnie DeBenedetto, Jeff Leroy and Dawn Parker. A sixth person, Joseph Signoretti, is a write-in candidate.

Mayor Dick Sears has no opposition. Councilman Ernie Pearson did not choose to seek an elected term.

Elections in Holly Springs are non-partisan. Council members are chosen by popular at-large vote. That means the top three vote-getters among the council candidates will win.

The Wake County Board of Elections has added two polling places, so many Holly Springs residents will vote at a new location.
