October 8 Is Deadline for Voter Registration

Election Day isn’t until Nov. 2, but the deadline for registering to vote is now! Oct. 8 is the last day voter registration will be accepted for the November elections. Voter registration applications must be postmarked Oct. 8 or hand-delivered to the Wake County Board of Elections no later than 5 p.m. that Friday.

Voter registration applications can be downloaded from the Wake County Board of Elections website at http://www.wakegov.com/general/elections/default.htm, and applications also can be picked up at Holly Springs Town Hall. In addition, voter registration applications are available at local drivers license offices, high schools and public libraries.

After completing the application, mail it to: Wake County Board of Elections, PO Box 695, Raleigh, NC, 27602.

Unsure whether or not your voter registration is up-to-date? Call the Wake County Board of Elections office at (919) 856-6240 or look on the Board of Elections website at http://www.wakegov.com/general/elections/search.htm. In addition to verifying registration status, the website also lists each individual’s voting location.
