1/28/04 Town Requests Input in Planning Future Cultural Center In 2006, Holly Springs is planning on opening the doors to a new, approximately 5,000-square-foot cultural center in conjunction with the opening of a branch library downTown. From now through February, Holly Springs residents have the opportunity to let Town officials know what activities they would like the new cultural center and future community centers to offer. Residents can have input into the process at a public meeting, or they can respond to an online survey. The public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Hunt Community Center at 301 Stinson Ave. The meeting is in conjunction with the monthly Recreation Advisory Board meeting. The online survey is linked from the Town’s homepage at www.hollyspringsnc.us. The survey has a list of potential activities – from belly dancing classes to swimming in an indoor pool – and requests residents to check 10 or less of the activities in which they have an interest. Space is available for additional comments and suggestions. “It’s important for us to get public input on what kinds of activities this new cultural center will offer because that’s who we’re building this center for – the community,” said Len Bradley, Parks and Recreation director. |
