Town Fitness Room Opens Earlier for Morning Exercisers
New, Earlier Hours Added Due to Public Interest

Rise and shine, Holly Springs residents! The Town Parks & Recreation Department is now opening the doors to the Hunt Community Center fitness room at 6 a.m. on weekdays.

The fitness room includes treadmills, stationary bicycles and elliptical trainers for burning fat and increasing aerobic endurance. Resistance machines for every major muscle group are available to build and tone muscle. Mats for stretching and extras, including balance balls and free weights (1-60 lbs.), are also available.

“We were getting feedback from the public that they would like the fitness room to open earlier,” said Len Bradley, director of Parks & Recreation.

Previously, the fitness room opened at 8 a.m. The new hours, which began July 26, are 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. - noon Saturday.

So far, Bradley said, an average of four or five people have been visiting the fitness room during the new early morning hours. However, he expects more people to begin arriving earlier as the word gets out about the new hours.

Fitness room membership is $75 per year or $10 per month for Holly Springs residents. To sign up or for more information, call Parks & Recreation at (919) 557-9600 or visit the Hunt Community Center at 301 Stinson Ave., near Womble Park.
