Free Fitness Seminar in Hunt Community Center Fitness Room
Saturday, March 20, Fitness Room Members Can Learn How to Maximize Workouts

Are you getting the best possible results from your workouts? A free seminar for Hunt Community Center fitness room members on how to maximize workout results by properly using the fitness equipment will be given by personal trainer Jackie Miller. The free, one-hour seminar begins at noon on Saturday, March 20, in the Hunt Community Center fitness room.

The program will outline a basic, entry-level strength training program. Miller will give guidelines on how to sequence workout routines using the machines in the fitness room, and she will show participants how to properly use the equipment to get the most out of every workout. In addition to covering the strength-training machines, Miller will also discuss using free weights and cardiovascular machines. Her main focus will be on using the correct form and on safety.

“I really want to educate people on how to use the equipment,” Miller said. “The workshop is for their own safety, for their own health. If they're not using the equipment correctly, they're not going to get the results long term, and they're going to be more likely to give up.”

Miller has been working in the health and fitness industry since 1996. She is the owner of Brit-Fit Personal Training, a service that works with individuals and groups to enhance quality of life through fitness training. As part of her business, Miller can be hired as a personal trainer through the Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department.

“This is what I do for my life,” Miller said. “I live and breathe health and fitness.”

Miller said that she enjoys working with people and seeing her clients meet their fitness goals.

“It's just so rewarding to watch people overcome their fears and reach their goals,” she said. “That's so inspiring when you begin to believe in yourself.”

“A lot of people want to be told what they can do, not what they can't do. A lot of people don't realize what they can do. A lot of people have more ability than what they think they have. It's their mind that holds them back,” she said.

In addition to her work, Miller enjoys competing in triathlons. She is currently training for the Ironman triathlon in Brazil, to be held in May.

For more information on the free workshop, contact Miller at 552-2817. Or, for more information about becoming a fitness room member, call the Hunt Community Center at 557-9600.
