Holly Springs Parks and Recreation has after school activities for children on traditional school year calendars. For year-round students, the department offers activities after school and during track out periods. Programs are held at the W.E. Hunt Recreation Center at 301 Stinson Ave.

Bass Lake Summer Work Crew

After School Program
The after school program is for kindergarten through eighth grade. What's included:
  • Transportation to the Hunt Center from school (Holly Springs, Holly Ridge, and Holly Grove elementary schools, and Holly Ridge and Holly Grove middle schools only)
  • Daily snack
  • Homework assistance
  • Fun activities led by a caring staff

Fees
  • $30 registration fee (non-refundable)
  • $110 per month for Holly Springs residents; $165 per month for non-residents
  • Multi-child discount applies (example: $110 for first child, $105 for second child)

To register, visit the Hunt Center between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm weekdays and 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Saturdays. An application is required at registration. For more information, contact Julie Tew at (919) 557-9603.

Track Out Programs
Program hours are 7:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday through Friday at the Hunt Center. Children should bring lunch, a drink, and one snack. What's included:
  • Fun and exciting activities such as arts and crafts, sports, nature programs, and more
  • Daily snack
  • Weekly outings

Fees (Year-Round Calendar)

  • Residents - $375 per session or $140 weekly
  • Non-residents - $562.50 per session or $210 weekly

Summer Camps

Summer camps are offered also. The W.E. Hunt Recreation Center offers a traditional full-day camp providing fun and healthy activities with new themes each week. At Bass Lake Park, campers will participate in nature activities, boating, fishing and more. If your child loves theater, music or art, the Holly Springs Cultural Center offers a variety of creative camps.

Registration Dates
  • Resident registration begins: February 3, 2014
  • Non-Resident registration begins: February 17, 2014  

Summer Camp Documents

Bass Lake Summer Work Crew
The Summer Work Crew program offers teens ages 14-16 the opportunity to gain paid work experience. Crew members are chosen through a competitive application process and will spend 70 percent of their work week completing beautification and maintenance projects at Bass Lake Park and other town properties and 30 percent participating in educational, training and team-building activities including meetings with town officials and field trips!
