Town of Holly Springs Board of Commissioners Special Meeting Thursday, January 14, 1999 MINUTES The Holly Springs Town Board of Commissioners met in special session on Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999 in the Town Board meeting chambers, located in Town Hall, 128 S. Main St. This special meeting was duly called as a continuation of a regular meeting of the Board on Jan. 5, 1999. Mayor Pro Tem Parrish Womble presided, calling the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. A quorum was established as the mayor pro tem and three board members were present as the meeting reopened. Board Members Present: Commissioners Hank Dickson, Jim Dolle, Parrish Womble, and Tim Sack. Board Members Absent: Mayor Gerald W. Holleman and Commissioner Ken Martin. Staff Members Present: Joni Smith, town clerk (recording the minutes); Ernest C. Pearson, town attorney; and John Ellis, finance director. 2. Closed Session -- Commissioner Sack moved that the Board enter into Closed Session for the purpose of discussing the acquisition of real property and a personnel issue. commissioner Dickson seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. In Closed Session, the following action was taken:
Commissioner Sack moved to authorize a 10-day extension of an option to buy the Hubert Edwin Mims property for the option cost of $10. Commissioner Dickson seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Commissioner Sack moved that the Mayor be authorized to negotiate a six-month to one-year further extension on the existing option to buy the Hubert Edwin Mims property for an option cost of no more than $10,000. Commissioner Dolle seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Commissioner Dolle then asked to be excused from the meeting during discussion of the town manager search. Following discussion, Commissioner Dolle was reseated. Commissioner Sack moved that the Board come out of Closed Session. Commissioner Dolle seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. 3. Adjournment -- There being no further business, the Jan. 14, 1999 special meeting of the Holly Springs Board of Commissioners was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. following a motion by Commissioner Sack, a second by Commissioner Dolle and a unanimous vote.
