2010 Census

April 1, 2010 is census day throughout the United States. The Constitution requires this population count every 10 years to determine how many seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Participation is required by law. You will receive your questionnaire in March 2010 by mail or delivered in person. Completion takes only about 10 minutes. Responses are confidential and protected by law.

Households that do not respond may receive a replacement questionnaire in early April. Census takers will visit households that do not return questionnaires to take a count in person.

The Importance to Holly Springs

The census helps determine shares of more than $300 billion in federal funds annually for schools, healthcare, roads, hospitals and other community projects and services.

Holly Springs and Wake County use census information to plan, allocate funds, and to carry out many other projects.
