The Engineering Department is committed to providing the highest quality engineering design, mapping, inspection and related services to support municipal infrastructure planning, expansion and new development.
Services provided by the department include:
- Preliminary plan review and approval for new development
- Construction drawing review and approval for new development
- Construction inspection of Town projects and new development projects
- Oversight of planning, design and construction phases for municipally-funded infrastructure projects (such as water, wastewater, reclaimed water, parking lots, storm drainage, sidewalk, transportation)
- GIS inventory location and mapping of utility lines, soils, roadways and other features
- Research and preparation of technical studies and reports
- Development of various policies and procedures
- Publication of the Town's Engineering Design & Construction Standards, including details
- Program development and administration of Sedimentation and Erosion Control, Floodplain Management, Storm Water Management, Illicit Discharge and other ordinances
- Environmental education for residents
- Presentations to community groups
