    August 5, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Everyone's favorite game! Bring your friends and join us every 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of each month from 1-3 pm for BINGO! Cash prizes up to $10. NO PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Please no children unless grandparent is caretaker.

  2. Haunted Hayride Volunteer Helpers

    August 5, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    The Haunted Hayride is already starting to form volunteers to help for this October. We will meet the first Wednesday of each month from May until August from 6-8 pm at Bass Lake Park. If you are interested in volunteering please make it out to these meetings. We will plan, decorate, and assign roles for the event. No registration is required. Ages 8+

  3. Family Fun Night

    August 7, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    A whole evening of family fun! From 6-7 pm make arts and crafts, meet a live animal, or borrow a fishing pole! Then from 7-8 pm join singer and storyteller Trish Miller for special children's concerts or Dan the Magic Man's magic show on the deck overlooking Bass Lake. Bring a chair and a picnic and enjoy the fun! In case of rain, event will be moved into the conference room.

  4. Hunter Education Course

    August 8, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Hunter Safety Education Course through the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. The Hunter Education Course includes information about hunter responsibility, wildlife conservation and management, firearms, wildlife identification, survival and first aid, specialty hunting, and tree stand safety. The course is a minimum of 6 hours and is accepted in every state and province in North America. All first time license buyers must successfully complete a hunter education course before they can hunt in North Carolina or purchase a hunting license. There is no minimum age requirement to take the course. REGISTER ONLINE AT www.ncwildlife.org

  5. Discovering Dinosaurs

    August 9, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Do you know what a fossil is? Come and learn how archaeologist dig up dinosaurs to study them. Learn what dinosaurs might have roamed this area that we live in today. Fun crafts and explorations to Discover Dinosaurs. Geared for ages 6+. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

  6. Discovering Nature

    August 11, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Bass Lake Park

    Ages: 4-6. A class for children to explore the natural world around them! Small class sizes and age-appropriate experiments, activities, and games allow children to make their own discoveries while having fun! Each class will focus on a different nature topic. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. No unregistered siblings please.

  7. Bass Lake Photography Club

    August 11, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    This group welcomes all photography enthusiasts from amateur to professional level. You do not need to own a camera to join this club. Membership open to anyone over the age of 18. Younger photographers may accompany an adult member. Meets on second Tuesdays. For more information go to www.basslakephotoclub.com

  8. Holly Springs Garden Club

    August 12, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Holly Springs Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of each month from 7-9 pm. Activities include speakers, plant exchanges, field trips, and community gardening projects. Visitors are welcome! Share "green thumb" tips and swap plants with beginning and long time gardeners. First two meetings are free. Annual membership dues are $25. Focus is on gardening in North Carolina Piedmont. Affiliated with NC and National Garden Club.

  9. In the Park After Dark

    August 12, 11:30 PM - August 13, 1:00 AM @ Bass Lake Park

    Join Bass Lake Park Naturalist for some stargazing and paddling in the park after dark! After a short astronomy lesson we will take the boats out and enjoy a view of the stars that are out of this world! We are scheduling this "In the Park After Dark" to view the Perseid Meteor shower which can produce up to 60 meteors per hour! It should be an awesome show to see from the lake. Ages 8+ . Sign up as a family or group. Canoes hold up to 2 adults and 1 child. Jon boats with oars holds up to 4 adults. Space is limited. Pre-Registration is required. (No motors, just paddling in this program). There must be someone at least 16 years or older in each boat.

  10. South Wake Conservationists - Wildlife Club

    August 13, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    The South Wake Conservationists wildlife club meets every second Thursday of the month from 7-9 pm. The club is a chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation and will focus on wildlife and habitat conservation. The club will participate in activities to promote conservation at Bass Lake Park as well as other areas around the town of Holly Springs. Meetings are free to attend, but there will be an annual membership fee to join.

  11. Family Bingo

    August 14, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Come for a little friendly competition! We play 13 games each night. All money leaves as a prize. Most games will pay out the winner's neighbors as well, so if you are not lucky...sit by someone who is! Bingo occurs the second Friday of the month from March to October. Anyone under 18 must by accompanied by an adult. PRE-REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED!

  12. Catfish Tournament 2015

    August 15, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Come out for a good time and try your luck entering the Catfish Tournament. Enter the day of the event. Your 3 largest catfish count toward your total weight. Prizes will be given our to the top 3 adult and top 3 youth participants. Youth range is from 6-17 and adult age range is 18+.

  13. Toddler Exploration

    August 15, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Come and enjoy some unique explorations with your toddler. This program is geared for little ones who learn through sensory stimulation activities. Touching, feeling, and shaking different items, some nature based and others just plain fun. Parents must be with their child during activities. Pre-Registration is required. Ages 15 months and up!

  14. Can You Guess the Animal Group

    August 16, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Animals travel in groups, but do you know what certain ones are called? Learn many different names for interesting animal groups. From land to sea we will take a look at various animals on this planet. This program is set up like a game but is educational and fun for all. Pre-Registration is required. Geared for ages 3+

  16. Fort Fisher Aquarium Bus Trip

    August 21, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Bass Lake Park

    Come join us on an adventure to different locations in NC. Bass Lake Park will drive their van and take you to interesting sites. The van holds 12 people total and will depart at time specified on date of trip. Admission to site is included in cost and we will get you there and back. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Geared for ages 8+

  17. Archery 101

    August 22, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake

    Have you ever wanted to shoot a bow and arrow? Come out to Sugg Farm and try this intro to archery class and see if it's for you. This one hour class covers range safety, responsible shooting, and includes an opportunity to shoot. Please no personal equipment for this class. All equipment is provided. Pre-registration is required. Geared for ages 8+

  18. Explore-A-Story

    August 27, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Bass Lake Park

    Ages: 3-5 Kids storytime and nature exploration program. Geared for ages 3-5, but all welcome. Enjoy storytime, nature explorations, and nature crafts. We will go for short exploratory walks if weather permits. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

  1. Carolina Puppet Theatre - The Green Mermaid

    The Carolina Puppet Theatre is an enchanting puppet experience creatively entertaining audiences with high energy antics. Using a variety of puppet styles, the characters come to life with engaging personalities and close interaction with the audience.

  2. Summer at the Springs presents GB4

    The Holly Springs Cultural Center is proud to bring you the Summer at the Springs Outdoor Concert Series! Bring a lawn chair and picnic dinner and enjoy these free family-friendly concerts. GB4 is Holly Spring’s own original Blues & Classic Rock Party Band. Holly Springs residents Tom Dobridge, Steve Spencer, Brad Shaffer & Kingsley Platts invite everyone out to their 8th appearance at the Summer at the Springs Concert Series.
