    Kids storytime and nature exploration program. Geared for ages 3-5, but all are welcome. Enjoy storytime, nature explorations, and nature crafts. We will go for short exploratory walks if weather permits. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

    Wake County’s Solid Waste Management Division will provide free landfill tours on Wednesday, September 24, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Wake Solid Waste Facility.

  2. Beericana

    September 27, 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM @ Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake

    919 Beer presents the Beericana Craft Beer and Music Festival, featuring more than 50 local breweries from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park. General admission is $45 and provides access to about 40 breweries pouring samples from 1:30 to 6 p.m. VIP tickets are $75 and include a 90 minute VIP-only session, beginning at noon, along with access to the VIP area, which includes 10 more breweries and additional private bathrooms. In addition to the 150+ beers to choose from, Beericana will feature live music on stage and 12 food trucks! From Korean BBQ to gourmet cupcakes, and from Bluegrass to rock, there will be something for everyone. A portion of proceeds will benefit Holly Springs’ Meg’s Smile Foundation and the NC Brewers Guild. Tickets are available online at www.beericana.com. Parking is free on site. No on-street parking will be permitted.

  1. Dog Days in the Park

    September 20, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake

    Bring your friendly leashed dog and join us for this free, fun family event featuring local pet care businesses, adoptable dogs, face painting for the kids, food and entertainment. Enter your pup in contests such as Cutest Dog, Ugliest Dog, Frisbee Catch, and more. Contests begin at 1 p.m. An expert dog trainer will hold a demo at noon. Concessions will be provided by Happy Holly's.

Planning & Zoning

  1. Planning Board Meeting

    September 23, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ 128 S Main Street

    The Planning Board is an eight-member citizen advisory board appointed by the Town Council. Seven live inside the Town limits. One resides within the Town's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). The Planning Board reviews and makes recommendations to the Town Council on all proposals for rezoning, various development-related requests, and amendments and additions to the Town’s zoning regulations and comprehensive plan. The Planning Board has no judicial or final decision authority but provides guidance to the Town Council on those requests. The Planning Board meets at 7:00 pm on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 128 S. Main Street. Meetings are open to the public. However, the Planning Board does not hold any public hearings during their regular meetings and is not required to hear comments from the general public. Planning Board members are also requested to attend various Town Council meetings on a rotating schedule at 7:00 pm the first and
