Town Collecting Supplies for Areas Hard Hit by Storm

The town is collecting supplies and other donations for first responders, cleanup crews and residents in areas dealing with the effects of Hurricane Florence.

Public Works Department

What's Collected: Nonperishable dry or canned goods, bottled water, toiletries, bleach or cleaning supplies for Public Works crews in Eastern N.C. towns and other storm-damaged areas.
Location: Public Works Department at 101 Thomas Mill Road (during business hours) or call (919) 552-5920 to arrange pickup at your location.

Fire Department

What's Collected: Baby formula, diapers, nonperishable food, cleaning and medical supplies; non-digital scales to weigh supplies
Location: Fire Station 1 at 700 Flint Point Lane and Fire Station 2 at 1140 Avent Ferry Road daily between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Details: The Fire Department is partnering with Operation Airdrop to have supplies delivered promptly to storm-damaged areas. Those who would like to donate and ship directly to the Operation Airdrop collection point at Raleigh-Durham International Airport can use the links below:

Police Department

Earlier this week, the police department collected supplies for first responders and those in emergency shelters. The donated goods filled the department's storage capacity, and the department is making arrangements for delivery of the supplies.
